Improved Access to Outdoor Activities for Small Groups and Late Bookers
For some time it has become clear that the booking habits and nature of those booking Outdoor Activities has been changing. Traditionally Groups of
four or more people booked well in advance of a visit to Wales, making bookings straightforward and group sizes cost effective. Bookings now are often
left until people arrive in the area and are often smaller group sizes.
SWOAPG have now introduced a Late Booking System to help small groups and late bookers. This system is not intended to be a Primary Booking system and
the Guidelines below explain how the system works.
Using the Late Booking System Primary Booking systems should be used wherever possible. This can include Web searching for individual Outdoor Activity
Provider websites, searching via Visit Wales, or via one of the main Destination
Visitors can be given the Late Booking Web Address if:
1. they are already in South Wales and are booking within a week or so of the desired activity
2. they have been struggling to find an available Outdoor Provider via Primary booking methods
3. They are an individual, couple or group of less than 4. Many Outdoor Providers are unable to handle groups of this size

To re-iterate, the scheme should not present itself as a Primary booking point and should only be used when Visitors have been unable to find a
provider through traditional routes.
