Guided walks & events in the Brecon Beacons Summer 2012

This Summer there are some great great guided walks and events happening through out the school holidays.

Highlights include:

Family Fun Day on August 12th - 12 noon - 5pm

Star gazing event - Sunday 12th August 7.30-11.00pm. Come and view one of Nature’s finest shows: the
Perseid meteor shower, live from the dark skies above the National Park Visitor Centre, Libanus, LD3 8ER. Guest speaker Chris North from BBC’s Sky at Night will be on hand to de-mystify the universe and answer questions.
Experts from Dark Sky Wales will be on hand to help you explore the heavens in their portable planetarium, view the shower by telescope, or just lie back on the lawns and enjoy the spectacle!

'Brecon Town Past & Present' - a Family Friendly walk on 16th, 23rd & 30th August

On 14th & 28th August there is 'Walk, Talk and Tea' an easy 1.5 mile family friendly walk that includes a mysterious spiritual centre, an industrial site, a final resting place, preparing for war, an unsolved mystery and a little known wonder. Followed by a delicious Cream Tea at the Centre for £3.20 per person

On 25th & 28th August try the Pen y Fan Circular Enjoy great views on this 4½ mile energetic walk to the summit of the highest mountain in southern Britain. Step back in time to the Bronze Age and visit the site of the obelisk raised to tragic Tommy Jones.
