RHYDIAN in CONCERT!

Venue: Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells
Time: 7.30pm

Rhydian is to star in a concert at Builth Wells on Saturday 11th September.

He's played to sell-out crowds all around the UK. He's performed numerous times on television. And now he is coming home to Brecknockshire and to Builth Wells where he will star in a concert at the Royal Welsh Showground. The concert is in support of Brecknockshire which, in 2012, will be the feature county of the Royal Welsh Show.

Also performing in the show is Royal College of Music graduate and soprano, Sarah Jane Davies who, like Rhydian, is from Sennybridge. In 2007 she was Welsh representative in BBC Cardiff's Singer of the World competition in 2007.

They will be joined by Ystradgynlais & Gyrlais Male Voice Choirs, Cantorion Trallong, Builth Ladies Choir and WI Singers.

Tickets, priced at £20 to £30, are available by phoning the Royal Welsh Showground on 01982 554406 and 554414

NOTES:

Rhydian was educated in Brecon and Llandovery and lived in Sennybridge. Since coming to fame in 2007 he has achieved double-platinum with his first album and his second was nominated for a Classical BRITs award. He has recently announced that he will be touring Europe and the UK in two rock musicals, The War of The Worlds and We Will Rock You.

Sarah-Jane Davies was educated in Brecon and lived in Sennybridge. She has several times played the role of Carmina in the English National Opera's production of the Magic Flute and has played the High Priestess in their production of Aida. This spring she played Micaela in the Welsh National Opera's Carmen.

The Royal Welsh Show started in 1904 and was held in Aberystwyth. Each year it moved to a different location, alternating between North and South Wales until in 1963 it settled on its current site in Builth Wells. To reflect its original migrations each year the Show has a different "host county" and in 2012 it will be the turn of Brecknockshire.
