Mountain-Trail-Challenge 2010

Venue: Garwnant Visitor / Forest Centre, Cwm Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 2HT
Time: All Day

A choice of 30 or 20 miles Walking Challenge taking place on the Saturday 18th September 2010
BRECON BEACONS

The walk will take in the highest summit in the area "Pen-y-Fan" (886m) and include some spectacular ridgeline walking as well as walking through forestry plantations and alongside some picturesque reservoirs and waterfalls.

This is the third year that the challenge has been running and in both the previous years the event has been oversubscribed; the event is limited to 500 so register early to avoid disappointment!

There will be a choice of two NEW challenging walks for 2010, the Full 30 Miles or the Shorter 20 Mile route. If you liked the routes last year you are going to love them this year!

IMPROVEMENTS: There are changes to the routes making them more challenging than in previous years; there will also be a lot less road and forestry tracks to follow making the routes even more interesting!

You can enter as an individual, as a pair or walk as a team. Do the Full or Short Route, it is up to you!

The Mountain-Trail-Challenge has a NEW BASE; the event will be starting from the new Garwnant Visitor / Forest Centre, Cwm Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 2HT. Grid Ref. SO 00324 13105. As with last year's event; we will be donating money to the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team (CBMRT) & the National Trust.
