CORDELL FESTIVAL
Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th September, 11 - 4pm
Join us in celebrating the works of the renowned author Alexander Cordell (1917 - 1997) in particular 'The Sweet and Bitter Earth' as we
commemorate the Centenary of the Tonypandy Riots of 1910.
This FREE two day event features music, theatre, tours, welsh crafts and food, plus lots more
In its heyday Rhondda’s coal was as important as the oil produced by the Middle East today. This Welsh Valley helped to power the world, and the
character and culture of the Rhondda is brought to life in the 'Black Gold' story through exciting multi media displays set in three
restored colliery buildings.
The Rhondda Heritage Park based at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery, Trehafod, is one of the top heritage and cultural visitor attractions in South
Wales and provides a fun and interesting day out for individuals, groups, school children and students.
