Dan Box - RGS Lecture
Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)
Dan spent time with people from the Carteret Islands of Papua New Guinea, as they left their idyllic home, in the first evacuation of a population as
a result of climate change. Their islands are being swallowed by the sea and their crops destroyed by storm surges and tides.
As the winner of the annual Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Journey of a Lifetime Award, Dan travelled to the islands to witness the first wave
of the evacuation and to make a BBC radio documentary about what is happening.
