Steppes FarmOur Cottages
Although no longer a working farm our six cottages retain much of their traditional elements of construction. The farmhouse and main buildings date
from the 17th century, while the Cider Mill with original press and stonemill wheel is of 15th century origin.
Gardens and Grounds
We have 4 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds, chairs and benches for sitting out and relaxing. Two grass paddocks provide an excellent recreation
area.
Old World Charm and Country Atmosphere
The cottages have been architect designed and lovingly restored, conserving many original structures, such as the old oak beams and timbers. These and
other features are combined with stylish interior designs of an exceptionally high standard to create the perfect atmosphere for rest and
relaxation.
Linen
Beds are made up for your arrival. Bedding includes a duvet and linen with extra blankets provided. Tea towels are provided but you are requested to
bring your own personal towels.
Service Room
Each cottage has its own key to a discrete service room with a deep freeze for bulk food storage. A dial-out telephone service and laundry facilities
are also available.
Groceries and Provisions
There are excellent shopping facilities in nearby Monmouth. Fresh eggs from our own chickens and ducks are available from the farmhouse.
Parking
Good garage and parking facilities are allocated to each cottage.
Electricity and Heating
Each cottage has heating included in its tariff. All other facilities are by coin meter.
On site we have our Michelin-listed restaurant, The Stone Mill. This beautiful 16th century barn has been tastefully converted with a modern twist to
offer a unique country dining experience. Oak beams and vaulted ceilings merge effortlessly with modern tableware and trendy furnishings to create a
calm and relaxing ambience that guests find welcoming and comfortable.
Our chefs have created a mouth-watering menu, combining the very best of fresh, locally-sourced produce with contemporary fusion cooking techniques.
