Beili Helyg Brecon Beacons Guest House

Beili Helyg, an 18th century stone built longhouse recently renovated to include 4* ensuite spacious guest rooms with beautifully restored antique furniture, and retaining many original features.

Walkers and cyclists are welcome. Boot and drying room & secure lock up for cycles.

Guests have their own access so you can come & go as you wish, a dining room and guest lounge.

We have 16 acres of native woodland and meadows with open views and clean air of the Beacons mountainside, makes this the place to spend some quality time. Guests are welcome to stroll anywhere in the grounds.

We can help you plan your walking & cycling routes, +/or drive you to a start point to walk back. We can provide evening meals & packed lunches. Our home & garden produce is on the menu daily.

There is excellent walking/ cycling from the door, open access land is 5 minutes walk.

The guest rooms are formed from the hayloft, cowshed, stable and barns. There are three rooms; two doubles and one twin, which has a further lockable single room attached. The twin beds can be zipped together to form a super king.

We are situated in the central section of the National Park at the head of the beautiful Cwm Cadlan valley which is a National Nature Reserve.

Beili Helyg is ideal for walking with all major walks and more unknown routes nearby. We offer a drop off service for you to walk/navigate back to Beili Helyg, from Pontneddfechan(a waterfall walk); Dolygaer(via Taff Trail); and Neuadd reservoir (over the peaks of Cribyn, Penyfan and Corn Du). We can also provide you with a packed lunch.

Caving, cycling, bird watching and horse riding are nearby and fishing is available at rivers and reservoirs for coarse, game and wild trout. Wild fish only at the atmospheric secluded Ystradfellte reservoir.

For anyone interested in landscapre and geology this is a limestone area with waterfalls, caves, shake holes, swallow holes, limestone pavements and evidence of the Dinas fault.

There are many prehistoric and historic sites; walk in the footsteps of romans along Sarn Helen, and visit the standing stones at Maen Llia & Maen Madoc.

Many visitors are tracing ancestors and using the local Mormon Church for their detailed records.

Relaxing and general lethargy are also recommended. So why not sit in our guest lounge and read a novel with your toes pointed toward a log burning fire with your favourite tipple (we provide free corkage). Or on a warmer day sit out on one of our benches in the woods.
