Brecon and Central Beacons

Cantref Riding Centre

Cantref Riding centre offers riding for all abilities from 20 minutes to full day rides and is the only riding centre situated on the Brecon Beacons. The centre offers you a unique way to see the Beacons from horse back with many of its rides taking you on the mountains themselves.
The 20 minute ride (£10.00 per child & £12 per adult) is suitable for beginner riders and children aged 4 - 6 years and take place in the riding school.
The Cantref Red Kite ride (£18.00 for children & £20.00 for adults) goes around the farm and gives you spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. This ride is suitable for children 6 years and above and the beginner/novice rider. The ride remains at a walk and is the ideal ride for families with younger children. Ride is approx 1 hour.
The Brecon Beacons Explorer ride is approx 2 1/2 hours long (£30.00 per person)and takes you up onto the mountains via the country lanes. The ride is suitable for all abilities and there are opportunities to canter for the more experienced rider; conditions permitting. Please note that children must be 11 years and over to ride on the mountains.
The Welsh Pony Trails ride is approx 5 hour long (£55 per person) including a stop for lunch en route. The ride will take you into the heart of the Beacons where you will see the breath taking beauty. You will need to bring a packed lunch with you. Please note that children must be 11 years and over to ride on the mountains.

All rides are escorted by a friendly guide and basic instruction is given before every ride. Every effort is made to ensure that all riders have a great day out. B.S. hats are provided free of charge and must be worn at all times. Please note that our weight restriction is 16 stone. Please note that times include a a demonstration and instruction.

Please note that children must be 4 years and over to ride at Cantref.
