The Brecon Beacons National Park is the host to of a wonderful range of festivals -

The Guardian Hay Festival that celebrates great writing in every medium occurs in the Whitsun week. The festival follows up with a literary winter weekend in December - the organisers work with the town of Hay to combine the event with carols, late night Christmas shopping and seasonal dining.

August is a great month for music lovers with The Brecon Jazz Festival swiftly followed by The Green Man Festival at Glanusk. The Green Man Festival has become known for pioneering the best in alternative music styles in an unrivalled atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.

The area celebrates food in spectacular fashion with The Abergavenny Food Festival in September with this event mirrored on a smaller scale in June at Hay and in October at Brecon.
